Right now and feel a mixture of happiness and sadness. The joy comes from a 1000+ mile on and off-road Adventure test on the magnificent Ducati Multistrada, the sadness come from having to hand it back to SoCal Ducati as my time on the wonderful motorcycle has come to and end.
I’ve ridden it in the cold and wet, splashed through many puddles and tested the traction control and ABS to the limits and that was just on the road. Off road we ran into snow, slid off in soft sand and ridden up and over many a hillside and got it very muddy.
This bike has take me all over the place and surprised me with its capabilities as a top notch Adventure Sport machine, that can rail corners as fast as any Sports bike and then back that up by following in the off-road tracks as the Yamaha Super Tenere.
With a simple flick of a few buttons this motorbike cleverly changes the suspension, power curve and HP depending on which mode you choose, oh yes and it keeps your hands nice and warm too with the heated hand grips.
Adventure riding is going to new levels and Ducati have brought to the table a splendid mix of Superbike performance and comfortable long distance touring with decent off-road capabilities thrown in for good measure. Because it’s Italian, it comes with style and a distinctive engine note that makes your ears sing and people turn around and glare where ever you go.
But don’t just take my word for it, check out my video showing you just want you can do on a bike like this:
