Catalina Grand Prix 2010 – Part 1 Buying a ‘1979 YZ400’

After a 52 year absence the Catalina Grand Prix made an historic comeback and my mad keen biking buddies Andy Bell and Roland Sands just couldn’t resist the chance to race it, so I joined them and signed up at the last minute.

This video just follows my own first-hand experiences of buying a motorbike, trying to prep it, all while facing a race against the clock to get my old machine on the boat in time to make it to the Catalina Island.

It was 24 hours of madness that almost gets me to the start line of a historic motorcycle moment and it’s a race I’ve been dreaming about doing for months.
