After getting a look at beautiful Canada on my way to Alaska, I just had to return, so I headed back to ride one of the best motorcycling roads in British Colombia!
As I left Kelowna, I then took a back road out of the city and instantly found myself alone, and with the road all to myself. What a great start!
So we’ve just left Kelowna on an absolutely gorgeous road, full of twisties, nothing on the road, fantastic.
We’ve just turned off, we’re here at the Fintry Estate, look at this old barn, nearly 100 years old. Absolutely gorgeous.
And now we’re going to head to the falls, a little stroll through the woods, let’s go!
Wow, look at that, gorgeous!
After my brief stop at the falls it was then back to enjoying the empty opens roads, as I now headed out of the Okanagan region and towards the Kootenay’s.
The roads and the scenery are absolutely beautiful, but it’s just started drizzling, so let’s go in here and get some food.

Aww, what a great pitstop, now let’s get back on this Yamaha and see more stunning scenery
We’ve just left the Oakanargon region this morning and this ferry is now going to take us across to the Kootenays.
This is the Kootenay lake and believe it or not, this ferry is actually free because this is part of the actual highway.
The road ends there and starts there after the free ferry ride.
Unfortunately I would once again run into some wet weather, it was to be expected though, as this was approaching the end of the riding season here in British Colombia, and with dropping temperatures, care needed to be taken.
It might be raining but this is a good time to test out the new Alpinestar gear.
This is 100% waterproof, so are my gloves, so I’m bone dry.
And being a Brit, I don’t mind splashing around these corners.
Despite the miserable weather, the scenery and the roads were both spectacular.
So that’s the end of day 1, it’s been brilliant. Oakanagon was magnificent, beautiful.
Then we crossed into the Kootenays and it started to drizzle.
It didn’t stop it being beautiful it was absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately, I couldn’t ride the bike quite as I would like, but still splashing through the rain has been plenty of fun.
Now it’s coming dark, so we’re going to go and get a feed and then go camping.
Here we are at the Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground
This bus was my bed for the night, absolutely brilliant. Let’s go check this out.

Now there are so many unique things about this campsite, so let’s go around and check some of it out.
This is another bed and another bus, let’s go and have a look.
And this is the communal cooking area, awesome.
Yeah, this place is rad, look at this.
A communal workshop, how good is that? Fix your bike, got tools, workbench, what more could you want?
So this is the communal area, the Pavillion. We’ve got a pool table, a kitchen, a bit of a bar. Coffee’s on the go, so let’s get some of that.
And this is the campsite manager, Mary

That’s Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground. Don’t you think it’s totally unique, really special place.
This is based on the loyalty system, you pay when you leave, for your accommodation, for your firewood, for your coffee.
What other kind of places do that. Definitely come and stay, check it out, you’ll have a blast.
Upon leaving the campground I rode straight into quiet roads by the lake, what a perfect start.
But before we got the famous biking road I’d come here to ride, I made a quick pitstop at the local hot-springs and warmed up.
So here we are at the Ainsworth Hot Springs.
They’ve got a hot spring inside a cave, so let’s go check it out.
Amazing!
This is the road that we’ve come to ride the 31a from Kaslo to New Denver.
Now we’ve heard so much about this road, some tell us that this is the best motorcycling road in BC
Full of twists and turns, stunning scenery and of course…made for motorbikes.
So let’s get back on this Yamaha and go ride.
Aww, yes, this road was well worth the effort to find.
It’s loads of fun and has non-stop corners.
And like all parts of British Columbia that I’ve experienced, the landscape was just gorgeous
Yeess! Kaslo to new Denver, the road is fantastic.
Loads of twists and turns, gorgeous scenery.
It didn’t disappoint!

As I rode towards the close of my British Columbia adventure,
I have to say that my time in Canada had been truly brilliant
There are loads of great biking roads that just seem to wind through the endless gorgeous countryside
What more could you ask for?
