The road traffic accidents involving motorcycles on the Isle of Man are getting out of hand!

Several times a day the roads are being closed because of are select few (1%) of careless and foolish bikers spoiling it for the rest of the island and ultimately giving bikers a bad name.

Today (Saturday) a Englishman was killed in a crash on the exit of Brandywell shortly after 8.00am

Police kept the road closed to carry out investigations until 10.30am, when the mountain road was due to close for racing.

Yesterday (Friday) a motorcyclist crashed into the back of a Police vehicle, the collision involved Honda motorcycle, and a black Suzuki bike; the police vehicle was a Range Rover.

The Honda had slowed behind the Police car, but was struck from behind by the Suzuki prior to the Suzuki then striking the rear of the Range Rover and the rider of the Suzuki sustained serious injuries.

Then later in the evening a motorcyclist has died following a crash shortly before last night’s practice session.

A red Norton bike and sidecar hit a parked and unattended Peugeot 206 at Claddaghs Road in Sulby. The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries, whilst the passenger was detained at Noble’s with head injuries.

I could go on but I won’t but as you can see it is quite grim and the consequences of speeding when you shouldn’t, riding above your talent or just being plain careless has a major effect on not only those involved in the incidents, their families but also the rest of the bikers on the island.

      Slow Down – Please!

Let the Pro’s do the speeding, that’s what the TT is for….
